NICABM ran a terrific “Rethinking Trauma” series last year, pointing out that “talk therapy” can’t always cut it — we need body work and other alternative “somatic” therapies, as I’d written for months.  It’s still available; see library of their 2011-2014 webinars bottom of this page, or click here: 2014 Trauma Webinars: van der Kolk, Siegel, Levine

Echo Parenting and Education “Changing the Paradigm 2015 Conference on Development Trauma,” featuring Bessel van der Kolk and Heather Forbes, March 5 &6, Los Angeles. The Echo staff talk on “Non-Violent Parenting” was a huge bonus, and a great way, too, to think about “Non-Violent Relating to Humans In General.”   They  outlined a huge shift from today’s culture of “Power Over” in which “we will control you to get you to behave as we want,” to “We will love and attach to you, and we will trust that your loving behavior will follow.”  I’ll update this link as videos and speech slides are posted at: http://www.echoparenting.org/changing-the-paradigm-conference.html
